We have just converted from many years of using SVN to github. One of the features I liked about SVN was that you could filter out all the commits and merge just the ones you want, say based on a ticket number in the commit message.
I would like to achieve something similar with github. It seems that filtering on history is not that straight forward. I can see how I can do it from the command line, but it seems the best I can do is search using grep i.e. git log -g --grep="ticket 9861". Is there a way, from the command line to view all my changes to have not been cherry picked into a certain branch (for example into the QA branch) and that match a filter in the commit message? ANd then cherry pick those changes into the QA/UAT/PRODUCTION branch? Thank you!
