Question
Body
The title of this question is similar to https://github.com/orgs/community/discussions/22354, but the actual question is different.
Question: Is it possible to configure a folder within a repo to allow direct merges to the main/master branch, that is, skip the pull requests?
Context:
Let's think of a simple repo structure with three folders:
docs
(documentation)src
(source code)test
(tests of the source code)I would like people owning (in the CODEOWNERS file) the
docs
folder to merge documentation updates without asking for PRs (a kind of force push applicable only to a specific folder)Note that "Allow specific actors to bypass pull request requirements." applies across the repo, whereas my question is for a specific folder.
