Hey @thomasm-ttd The link you provided points you toward information on the enterprise plans. This capability is not available for free plans. Take a look at the secret scanning documentation for free, pro, and team accounts here. |

I have been through the documentation on adding a custom secret pattern for either a public repo or an organization. This is the documentation https://docs.github.com/en/enterprise-cloud@latest/code-security/secret-scanning/defining-custom-patterns-for-secret-scanning.
In my repos, there is not GitHub Advanced Security section on the Code security and analysis page. The documentation seems to imply that this is available for public repos - the repo I am trying to add it to is a public repo in an organization with a Free plan. I have also tried it on public repos in my personal account, and the result is the same - there is no option to add a custom pattern.
Can anyone confirm if this is related to the plan I am using? Or is there something else I need. I thought that GitHub Advanced Security was enabled on public repos.
I can enable secret scanning and push protection on those repos, but can't add a custom pattern.
