A lot of OSS projects are run by huge companies or are now heavily funded by VCs.
These projects rely on other projects while also not needing donations themselves.
Too many independent devs maintaining unsexy infrastructure-level projects get too little chance to be paid for their work.
This is why I built payitfwd.dev
E.g:
https://payitfwd.dev/firebase/firebase-js-sdk
It allows project maintainers to forward potential donors to dependencies.
The project uses the GitHub graph API to figure out which dependency donation page to forward to.
In this GitHub document page (https://docs.github.com/en/repositories/managing-your-repositorys-settings-and-features/customizing-your-repository/displaying-a-sponsor-button-in-your-repository) there is a list of "first party" platforms that can be specifically referenced in the funding.yml file.
Who can I talk to to get payitfwd.dev (and potentially other projects like thanks.dev) onto that list?
Thanks 🙏
